We will focus on reducing violent crime and repeat offenders by putting deputies where they are needed most and strengthening partnerships with local law enforcement.
Honest & Transparent Policing
Accountability builds trust. We will implement clear, modern police practice policies that will be available online for the public to view, as well as a weekly crime reports. Additionally, we will provide online reporting for certain criminal offenses and non- reportable vehicle accidents. Citizens will also be able to share their compliments, suggestions or complaints to the Sheriff online to ensure every citizen has a voice.
Community First Policing
Strong relationships make safer communities. Deputies will be visible, engaged, and connected through community outreach programs, and partnerships with local organizations.

Our agency will reflect today’s best practices. We will update policies, prioritize training, and pursue full agency accreditation through Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC) to ensure the highest professional standards.

Smart Response to Mental Health
Not every call requires a jail cell. We will expand crisis intervention training and partner with mental health professionals to respond safely and effectively.
Combating Drugs & Addiction
We will aggressively target drug traffickers while supporting prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts to break the cycle of addiction.
